Annee Ingala
BA, LMT, Manager, Owner
Annee Ingala's personal mission is to assist people in being the healthiest that they can be. Having lost both parents to cancer, she sees healthcare, especially alternative therapies, as a top priority. She saw how well her mother responded to massage therapy treatments in her final days, and an idea began to form. Then, shortly before her father passed away, he began training in, and sharing his knowledge about, Shiatsu massage. The knowledge he imparted to Annee before his death became the birth of her own new career. As a massage therapy graduate of East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, Oregon, her greatest interest is in prenatal and post partum massage. She is also trained in hot stone massage techniques.
Women's healthcare developed into a passion of hers during her undergraduate college years. She holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Anthropology and Gender Studies from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. Following a move to Portland, Annee worked for 6 1/2 years for Planned Parenthood of the Columbia / Willamette. She served both as an assistant manager, and as a member of the patient services support staff. She continues to volunteer for the organization because she feels passionate about Planned Parenthood's goals.
Annee's greatest pride is her daughter, Lillian, who was born in 2005. (Her husband comes in a close second, with the dogs and cats not far behind.) She knew, long before her daughter was born, that she was meant to be a mama; she takes the job very seriously. She believes in, and strives to be honest about how difficult motherhood can be. Women tend to set themselves up for failure by expecting to turn into Mrs. Brady after their children are born. Her house is messier, her plants are wilted, and she cooks fewer real meals, but she cherishes (almost) every moment that she is able to spend with her family.
"While I was working towards my massage therapy license, I began to dream of a center for pregnant and new mothers. Soon after my daughter was born, I discovered that a group of women had just begun to make this dream come true, and I was invited to join them." Annee feels blessed to be a member of this collection of strong, inspiring and beautiful women.
