Licensed Massage Therapists

Ami, LMT OBMT# 1809

Ami graduated from East-West College of Healing Arts in Portland Oregon in 1998 and continued her training with the Upledger Institute in the modality of Cranio-Sacral Therapy. In order to explore the mind body connection further she traveled to South India where she spent many years studying healing and energy mechanisms.  Ami guides you into your relaxed and rejuvenated self by using the techniques of Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage and when requested, adds the subtle yet deep work of Cranio-Sacral Therapy.

April D., LMT OBMT# 17130

Aa a 2009 graduate of the East West College for the Healing Arts here in Portland, my goals have centered on women's health and wellness with an interest in pregnancy and infant massage since entering school and I am thrilled to be a part of Zenana Spa and Wellness Center's team! I enjoy combining aspects of deep tissue, myofascial release, Thai massage, and movement therapy into each session as they may best benefit my client.  Each massage is tailored to my client's preferences and needs. My appreciation of the body's innate ability to heal itself and massages effectiveness in lessening chronic pain, restoring function and lifting the spirit is continually growing.  I look forward to learning more about holistic wellness and am excited to share this knowledge with others.

Dawn, LMT OBMT# 10342

As a transplant from Northern Indiana, Dawn started her massage career in 2003 after graduating from the Oregon School of Massage.  She knew right away that a specialty in prenatal massage was her calling.

In addition to studying pregnancy massage, side-lying massage and massage for birthing, she also spent time working in the OHSU maternity ward and NICU offering massage to women on bed rest and neo-natal intensive care providers.  Dawn has been offering relief from the aches and pains of Portland's expecting mamas since 2003.  She also offers Swedish, Deep Tissue, Reflexology and Chair Massage.  Dawn does not believe that there is a one-size-fits-all massage 'recipe' and will work with each client individually to design a session that may incorporate several different styles of massage to address specific needs.

Grace, LMT OBMT# 5587

Upon graduating from the East West College of the Healing Arts in 1996, Grace began her path in the spa world. Working for a number of high end Portland spas has given her a variety of treatment knowledge, including hydro-therapies, wraps and ayurvedic modalities, which soon evolved into training other spa technicians in body treatments, spa menu planning and many quality assurance and managerial tasks.  Knowing the spa world from the foundation up helps to ensure that each guest will have the most gratifying spa visit possible and that each person leaves feeling like royalty.

Grace will work with each guest to personalize each treatment to their specific needs using her abilities to listen and respond with an intuitive, methodical and strategic approach.  She has been trained in Clinical Deep Tissue, Hydrotherapy, Swedish, Ayurvedic Body Treatments, Myopathic Muscular Therapy and La Stone, hot stone massage, and many other spa therapies including wraps and scrubs.

Hanna, LMT OBMT# 13094

Hanna has had a lifelong respect and love for body work and its amazing results.  Upon graduation, Hanna began working in the spa industry at an Aveda salon and spa.  Here she developed her craft as a massage therapist as well as a deeper knowledge of Ayurvedic approaches for care of the body. Hanna began working at Zenana Spa and Wellness Center in the spring of 2009, where she further developed her techniques in prenatal and deep tissue massage.  She deeply values the connections she is able to create and maintain with her clients and is always excited to welcome new families to the spa.  Body treatments such as wraps, scrubs and add on services that enhance the spa experience are some of Hanna’s favorite appointments to provide to clients.

Hanna is currently continuing her education at Portland State University where she is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health Education with an emphasis on Community Health.  In her spare time, Hanna enjoys hula hooping, bicycling, knitting, and enjoying the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Heather, LMT OBMT# 18510

Heather Kline graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Kinesiology in 2006.  Upon graduation, Heather moved to Hawai'i to pursure an intensive Massage Therapy Program.  Not only was this experience fulfilling educationally - it was also life changing. Heather's technique incorporates a fine mix of resolution therapies, intuitive flow, and energetic healing, allowing for deep relaxation.

Traveling is a passion of Heather's, which has offered many opportunities to learn healing techniques from other therapists and schools all over the country.  Her experience ranges anywhere from medical offices and high-end spas, to more spiritual in nature working environments.  Come in and experience her unique touch for yourself.

Ruth

Ruth's true calling has always been helping people. Ever since she can remember she's been the person that people can turn to, open up to, and rely on. Over the years this passion to support people has organically transformed from hospitality and customer service professions into massage therapy. Since her graduation from East-West College in 2002 and licensure she's worked in several spa environments, becoming fluent in an assortment of therapies, such as body exfoliations, wraps, hot stone massage, hydrotherapy, and Ayurvedic treatments. She believes in creating and holding a safe space for her clients to be themselves however that looks and to “let go.” Her style of massage integrates basic Swedish flow with myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and energy work. She appreciates all various clients and massage modalities and honor the artistic side of healing that therapists have to offer. She looks forward to growing within her own health and well-being, as well as nurturing the clients she works with. In the future she can see her love and aspirations for helping people broaden from massage into the counseling profession.

Licensed Estheticians

April O.

April obtained her esthetics license June 2008. She is a licensed Esthetician in both Oregon and California. She began working in spas in southern Oregon, returning to Portland in 2009, to be closer to family and friends. April is deeply inspired by sustainable and organic products. She feels that organic is more then a label, it is a commitment to a lifestyle of health, healing, respect, and trust in Mother Nature herself.

April loves being an esthetician and takes great care in providing a rejuvenating and calming facial that restores your skin to its vibrant natural state of radiant beauty. She is excited about using Eminence Organics skin care line and is thrilled to be working at a spa that shares her commitment to organic values. After extensive inquiries in many different products lines she feels Eminence is an excellent product line for nourishing and restoring the skin, without compromising the responsibility to a low carbon footprint. She looks forward to helping you select the best products available to reach your skin care goals.

April looks forward to nurturing you and giving you the best the industry has to offer. She works during the evening at Zenana, in order to support those who've been at work all day. Schedule a facial with her and come decompress and de-stress from your day.

Erika

Erika's passion for esthetics first began when she relocated from Santa Cruz, CA to Portland, OR in 2008. Raised by a mother who promoted natural medicine and sustainable living practices, Erika's focus in esthetics stems from the core idea that our skin is connected to all other systems in our body, when one system is out of balance that imbalance will manifest itself in the skin. With a holistic approach to skin care, she uses relaxing and rejuvenating facial massage techniques, well-crafted natural skin care lines such as
Eminence and educates clients on simple and effective home care. She strives to bring each client's skin back into its natural radiant state and have each person leave with a greater balance not only in their skin but mind, body and spirit.

Erika spends her time out of the spa with her daughter playing on swing-sets, baking, and gardening. She also can be seen around Portland teaching and performing fusion bellydance. She holds a Bachelors of Intermedia Arts from Arizona State University and occasionally moonlights as a portrait photographer and painter. She enjoys continuing her esthetics education through classes and reading with a focus on Oriental medicine and aromatherapy.

Greer

As an outward reflection of our inner self, Greer has always had a fascination for the skin.  And truth be told, she is a product junkie.  Realizing her disappointment in the Western approach to self care, it was important for her to seek out a Naturopathic program when pursuing her continued education in esthetics.

The skin, one's largest organ, is constantly changing and often ignored.  With this in mind, together you and Greer will address both immediate and long term concerns and send you home with a routine appropriate for your skin type.

Using a variety of techniques including manual lymphatic drainage and massage, her facials become more than just extractions, but rather a relaxing experience that will calm, nurture and allow you to put your best face forward.

Michelle

Michelle is a native Oregonian who grew up in Eugene and moved to Portland over 10 years ago.  She is a graduate of the Euro Institute of skin care.  She has advanced training in manual lymphatic drainage, chemical peels, sugaring, holistic care philosophies including Ayurveda .  Michelle prides herself on keeping her clients personal needs at heart and ensuring each one of her clients receives a unique and tranquil experience.

In addition, Michelle is passionate about skin care and believes everyone deserves healthy and beautiful skin.  By having regular facials, a healthy wholesome diet, regular exercise and using natural organic skin care, she can help her clients achieve a state of whole body wellness. In her free time she enjoys playing with her 3 year old son Rowan, spending time with family and friends, cooking, entertaining and taking the time to live a healthy lifestyle. She plans on furthering her esthetic knowledge through advanced education, community ties and fellow practitioners

Sara P.

Sara is a native Portlander, happily sustaining friendships that go back to pre-school and 12 years at the arts and creative learning-based school, Metropolitan Learning Center. After graduation from MLC, Sara moved to New York City to attend Eugene Lang  College, a part of the New School for Social Research. Her relocations have also taken her to San Francisco, Albuquerque, and finally back home to Portland.

Sara started her training in Esthetics in San Francisco and finished in Portland at the Esthetics Institute in 2003. Since then she has been working in the Portland spa scene until giving birth to her beautiful son Lukas in 2006. Lukas brought a transformation to Sara’s life that made her seek out a different kind of spa setting – one that supported mothers, women’s health, and balance. She is finding Zenana Spa a perfect fit for her intuitive and healing approach to skin care, self-care, and all-around healthy choices for ourselves and the planet. She enjoys gatherings of family and  friends, cooking, dance, and outdoor adventures with her partner William.

Sara truly enjoys her connections with her clients and helping them with their skin care needs so they can feel radiant from the inside out.

Kirsten

After leaving a career in environmental education, Kirsten began thinking about what hobbies gave her the most joy; that lovely path led her to the Bella Institute ofCosmetology. Nail services combine 2 of her favorite things: nurturing others and color! Before choosing nail technology, she strongly considered becoming a massage therapist, and her pedicures speak to that. Kirsten also has a passion for fun nail art, and is always up to try a new design. Shellac is her newest obsession, and she likes bringing the gospel of 2-week color to clients who previously felt they had weak nails or couldn't maintain a manicure - it's a life-changer!

Kirsten is a transplant from Chicago, but after more than a decade in Portland considers herself a naturalized citizen (and loves the rain - chances are, it's snowing in Chicago). She loves animals, and her own menagerie now numbers 3 cats, 2 humongous dogs, 4 snakes and a lizard. An avid reader/souvenir collector/general geek, she makes an annual whirlwind trip she calls the Nerd Tour to soak up allthe museums and history of a particular city or region.

Lindsey

Valerie

Valerie grew up in Portland until 1985 and then moved out to Sandy. After being a stay-at-home mom for four years, she decided to go to Nail Technician school.  She has spent the the last eleven years alternating between being at home with breaks working in different spas. She enjoys working in an environment using all natural products and loves helping pregnant women and moms feel better about themselves. She loves working in a calm, peaceful environment that nurtures women.

Wellness Studio Director

Brooke Fitchen

My yoga path started as a dancer looking for a new way to move in college. After graduating college and a spending two years in the corporate world it became clear that yoga was what I was most passionate about. I started out as a devout student of hot yoga only to soon thereafter become enchanted with the flow and movement of the vinyasa practice. I now incorporate both hot, vinyasa and many other styles of yoga into my practice in order to balance out. I believe in the importance of coming to the mat with an intention. Whether that intention be something that needs to be fueled by movement of the body or meditation of the mind it is beneficial to recognize and enlighten both. I encourage my students to be aware of their breath, their bodies, and to know that every day their practice is different. That is where my practice has taken me today. Nevertheless, it is constantly changing. In life and on one's mat, it is easy to get caught up in things passing by and all one wants to do is catch up. One's yoga practice should be the place where all that stops and one can listen to their thoughts and become in tune with their body. With my new role at Zenana Spa and Wellness Center my hope is to create a place where everyone can do just that. I’m very exciting about the types of classes and wealth of knowledge from our instructors that we will be offering here in the Zenana Spa and Wellness Center community!
